" THE  TRAVELING '?'
... IN PRIEST'S CLOTHING "

The First Encounter

  • The Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) train system covers 104 miles around the San Francisco Bay area.  Elaine Steele had lived in San Francisco for about 10 years and often used the train to commute to and from work.
  •  It was on Saturday, June the 10th, that Elaine got out of bed with the bizarre feeling something bad was going to happen.  It was a gray, cold day and looked like rain so, instead of taking her bike to work that day, she decided to take the BART...but felt oddly queasy at the thought.  But, Steele quickly dismissed the feeling;   as not only was she was going to work early on a Saturday (to fill in for a co-worker)   ... it was her birthday.
  • Still ....?  I went in,  but even remarked to my boyfriend that  "I had a strange feeling about that day",  she said.  So, around 7:00 AM, with coffee in hand, she walked to 24th & Mission and boarded the train.
  • There were only four people beside Steele in her car, as she sat texting her boyfriend and making birthday plans ... when Elaine sensed someone sitting down in the seat behind her.  She didn't bother turning around, there was no reason to, when suddenly "I felt this chill travel up my spine,"  she said. I looked in the window next to me to see the reflection of who was sitting behind me. I saw a priest."  Steele began to relax, it was only a Priest ... a man of God ...  but that feeling did not last.
  • In her initial relief, Elaine actually felt like turning around to say "Good Morning" when, instead;   the priest tapped HER on the shoulder and said "Good Morning".  Steele looked over her shoulder to return the priest?s greeting, but the words stuck in her throat.
  • "This guy was so scary looking," she said. "He looked sweaty even though it wasn't  hot and he had this big birth mark that took up one side of his face and it was dark pink. He had incredibly thin lips and large teeth, and he had freaky, basically colorless eyes."
  • As she stared at the priest, with his sweaty, pasty skin, and milky eyes.  She realized he had moved,  but she hadn't actually seen him do it.  "It was like he didn't?t take up space like a regular human," she said. ?His hand was resting on the back of my seat and I stared at it, then it was gone and he was adjusting his robe " but I never saw his hand move."
  • The priest's hand was in one place one minute, then simply in another place the next minute. "It was like he just removed his hand from that place and decided it was going someplace else but didn't actually move to make it happen," she said.
  • As she watched, the outline of the priest?s body shook like a bad TV signal.  "It seemed like he was vibrating," Steele said. ?It was like the outline of his body hummed with vibrations, kind of like an animated cartoon." Elaine managed to say a "Good Morning" back to the priest, then turned quickly away, inching forward on her seat to get as far away from him as she could.
  • "I felt bad but the guy was really freaky, so I didn't want to be sitting close to him since he was leaning forward in his seat," she said.
  • ?I kept hearing him say things under his breath that I couldn't?t make out, which at the time I thought "chanting."
  •  "He was also breathing like in a really forced way, like taking these deep breaths and exhaling in a loud and obvious way."  His breathing was so heavy it was actually making  her hair move!  Steele wanted to bolt to another seat, but didn't want to offend a priest. Then ...  she felt his hand.
  • "He reached out and touched my hair," she said. The priest?s touch wasn't?t normal. "It was sort of like having your hair stick to something when he touched it. Not like he pulled it, but like my hair got wet and that heavy feeling after."
  • Steele pulled her hair over her shoulder and turned around.  "Please don?t touch my hair," she shouted, but the priest was gone... in fact he was no longer in the train car at all!  ?It was like the second he touched my hair then he vanished,? she said. ?I looked around at the other people on the BART as if to say "did you see that"? and no one paid me any mind."
  • Terrified, Steele shot from her seat and looked everywhere. The priest wasn't in her car, or in the next.
  • "I know that people probably wondered who is this nuts lady running around and yelling at a priest" But I didn't even care," she said. "I was distraught, very shaken. I sat back down near the door as I was almost at my work."
  • When the train pulled to her stop and Steele stepped off, but something  still was not right.  "It was so creepy,? she said. "I kept feeling as though someone was watching me."
  • Steele's job puts her into daily one-on-one contact with drug addicts and violent criminal offenders, "I shake hands with these people, help them, travel alone in cars with them and not ever have I felt fear for myself," she said. "This priest thing scared the crap out of me. I want to make sure that you know that this isn't a man. There is no way."  She said she has never felt afraid like she did on the train, that Saturday morning, on her birthday.

The Second Encounter

Jared Thompson: San Francisco - April 2011

  • Jared Thompson was headed  home on the train,  when a male voice asked Thompson for the newspaper that lay on the seat next to him.
  • Thompson looked up from his thoughts and saw the stranger.  A priest, about 6 feet tall (Thompson himself was 6'3") balding with "brittle" looking hair, a waxy, chapped complexion with a birthmark covering one side of his face ... but this priest just felt "wrong" somehow.

"My gut reaction was that he was sick with something terminal," Thompson said, "but then (the feeling) grew into something darker."

The priest stood over  Thompson, and terror grew in his chest.
  • "This guy was giving off the scariest vibes, and I am in no way sensitive to that sort of thing," he said. "I thought it was weird that he was asking for the paper because at first glance I thought he was blind."
  • The priest's eyes were milky, but as Thompson studied the man, he knew the priest could see.  "His eyes were alert," Thompson said. "He was tracking my movements visually."  Thompson handed him the paper.
  • "When he reached to take it, the train lurched and he stumbled closer to me," Thompson said. "I almost gagged. This man smelled.  If you've ever had a rat die in your wall or cleaned up a mousetrap, it was the same kind of smell. It was sickening, sweet, rotting and oppressive."  Thompson gagged at the smell, tears rimming his eyes. The priest took the paper and actually sat down on the seat opposite him.
  • "But he was not reading the paper," Thompson said. "He was staring at me with a huge grin on his face. In my entire life I have never felt the sick fear that I had when that priest was staring at me."
  • Terror running through him, Thompson looked out the window, the city clicking past, and thought how much he wanted to see his wife waiting for him at home.
  • "The priest leaned over the aisle and said, "she wants to see you, too," Thompson said. "And then he gave me another awful smile. This was not friendly " it was horrible."  "There was something about him that told me he had literally just heard what I was thinking," Thompson said. "It's not as if I was looking at a photo of my wife or texting her or something. I was just staring out the window, minding my own business."
  • Thompson didn't respond. He kept looking at the scenery speeding by, counting the seconds until he reached his destination.  "The train went for a few more stops and the whole time I was sweating, nervous and sick to my stomach," he said. "I was so relieved when we came to my stop."
  • Thompson shot up, grabbed his bag, and all but ran from the train.  "I turned around and saw that the priest was still on it when it pulled away," he said. "I actually kept my eyes on the train until it was well past the station. As soon as I was standing outside in the fresh air, I began to feel better. I told myself it was just some creepy old man and that I was over reacting. isn't that what people always tell themselves?"
  • Thompson walked toward his car in the parking lot, relaxing more with each step. He climbed inside and pulled out of the lot, taking his eyes off the pavement for a moment to adjust his seat belt. When he turned his attention back to the road he slammed his foot onto the brake pedal.
  • "I saw a figure standing about 10 feet from my car, right in the center of the driveway," he said. "It was the man from the train. Same priest robe. He waved at me." Thompson threw his car in reverse, spun its nose around and gunned toward the second exit.
  • "I have no clue how he got there," Thompson said. "But I know for a fact that I wasn't hallucinating. It was the same guy from the train. I would recognize him anywhere."
  • Thompson hasn't seen the "priest" again. He doesn't talk about his experience. He hasn't even told his wife.  "This guy left me rattled," Thompson said. "If I think about him to this day I get a nervous creeping feeling inside of me. I haven't the faintest idea what he is only that I don't believe he is a human being."

A TALE OF

"The Black-Eyed Children"

  • It was  a warm for a December afternoon in Hutchinson, Kan., when Katie came home from work in 2008. Katie’s ride dropped her off across from her duplex, and as she stood in the street, her ride moving slowly away, she knew something wasn’t right.

“I noticed two boys standing in my driveway,” she said. “One had longer dark hair and the other had his hood up so I couldn't see him very well.”

  • The teenagers, about 15 or 16 years old, seemed to be watching her – Katie felt they were waiting for her. She steeled herself and walked nervously across the road toward her porch. The boys had lurked around her neighborhood for months, but they’d never been so bold as to stand this close to her home.

“I had seen them before, lingering in the yard, but they always left before I got out of my ride's car,” Katie said. “I had seen them late at night as well standing across the street when I would go outside to have an occasional late-night cigarette.”

  • But, although pangs of unease told her to run, their boldness angered her. She stopped and asked them why they were on her property.

“They told me they needed to use a phone and that the neighbors would not let them in,” she said. “That was when I noticed their eyes – they were coal black. Just black. No white and not even a hint of iris or pupil.”
  • Fear shot through her, but as evenly as she could, Katie told them she didn’t have a telephone. Katie walked up her porch steps and began to unlock her door when the boy in the hood spoke.

“He asked if they could come in for a glass of water,” she said. “I turned to look at them again thinking maybe my mind was playing tricks. But no, when I turned and looked into their eyes they were pitch black as the first time.”

  • These children with dead, black eyes had spoken softly to her, emotion and vocal inflection absent from their words. As she looked at these boys, whose long hair and hooded sweatshirts she felt hid more than skin, she knew she had to get away.

“I felt panicked and fearful but also very vulnerable and cold,” she said. “It was like I wanted to let them in but I knew there was evil present. I had felt uneasy before seeing their eyes but now it all came out.”

  • Then one boy said something that turned her fear into complete terror.

  • “The hooded one then told me they couldn't come in unless I told them it was OK and that they hoped I would because they were thirsty,” Katie said. “I opened my door and darted inside. At this point I shut the door and locked it.”

  • She dropped onto the couch, her breaths coming in short, heavy gasps, when something tapped on the window behind her head.

“One of the boys stood there staring through the glass,” Katie said. “I remember his words very clearly; ‘just let us in, miss. We aren't dangerous, we don't have anything to hurt you with.’ I was beyond frightened at this point.”

  • Katie jumped off the couch and ran through the duplex, checking doors and windows to make sure they were locked.

“I did wonder if they really couldn't come in unless invited but I didn't want to find out,” she said. “I sat in the living room silently waiting for a sign that they had gone.”

  • When her boyfriend came home a short time later, the black-eyed teens were still at the house.

“(He) asked if I knew who the two boys outside were and I said ‘no,’” Katie said. “He told me they had been standing in the driveway when he pulled up but walked away when he stepped out of the car.”  He didn’t notice the boys’ eyes, but “they gave him a strange feeling.”
  • Katie later asked her neighbors if the black-eyed children had asked to use their telephone like they had claimed. The neighbors noticed the teens standing in Katie’s driveway, but never spoke with them.
  • Although it’s been more than a year since Katie turned the black-eyed children from her door, she knows they’re still around.

“I still see them every now and then standing across the street watching,” she said. “But they have not approached again.”

ADDENDUM
(One guy did let them in ...here is his tale)

(from
Darkness
Radio)

  • 2 boys knocked on the front door and asked to use the bathroom and the phone.  They were both looking down at the ground as they asked for entry.  When told "O.K.", they entered and one went straight to the bathroom upstairs, though he had not been told where the bathroom was.

  • "The phone is down the hall" ... the older boy headed for the phone.  The man followed the boy when he suddenly got a very odd feeling, nervous & shaky, as if something "awful" was about to happen.  The boy  stopped at the phone ... then  turned, looked up and said:

    "We've come to collect you"

That's when the man could see the boy's dead black eyes ... eyes with no pupils.  The man turned and started to run when he saw the smaller boy standing in his way at the end of the hall... then he started to become "dizzy" and even had to struggle to stay standing up.

  • The man made a huge effort and managed to run into the next room where he slammed the door shut.  He stood there, braced against the door... terrified,  and waited  for the next hour.

Finally, gathering his courage, he made a break for his back door .   He ran out the door and through his back yard, scrambled over his back fence, and ran down the block to a friend's house for help.

  • Together they returned to the house ... but no one was there.  His own conjecture was the dark eyed boys were some sort of alien hybrids sent to collect human specimens for  ..... some "Intergalactic Zoo" or... perhaps experimentation?

So ends this tale of the man
who asked the dark-eyed children to
    "Come On In"

The " Big Scary Men "

Visitation One:
2006 - Saskatchewan, Canada

  1. The weather was hot ... 90º Degrees hot...it was the middle of July.  Kalie Ulriksen had taken the  bus from La Ronge, Saskatchewan, to Saskatoon;  when the bus made a scheduled stop in Prince Albert.  “So I wandered around and went to grab a coffee at a nearby shop.”  Kate got here coffee "to go".  Walking back to the bus depot ... she discovered a small crowd of people had gathered, waiting for the bus driver.  Amongst the crowd ... was the man .... he stood out.

  2. “I look around the room and there is this guy standing in line waiting to board the bus,” she said. “His clothes just don’t fit. He is in knee-high, jet-black boots, extremely dark glasses, a large cowboy-style hat, gloves, and this takes the cake – a huge trench coat in a tiger skin pattern.”

  3. In the sweltering heat ???   But no .... not all that strange really:  “I was melting in a tank top and shorts,” she said. “Strange dressing people, even in the middle of Saskatchewan, doesn’t stand for anything. I know some crazy people. Dressing like it’s Halloween in the middle of summer doesn’t shock me. I know people who go to the bar wrapped in Saran Wrap.”  But there was something about this man beyond his clothing, something strange, and Ulriksen wasn't the only one who noticed it.

“It was the attitude of this guy. Like he was a predator,” she said. “I remember thinking at the time, ‘This guy could blow up the entire bus and kill us all and not think twice about it’.  “There was something about him; something hair-raising,” she said. “Literally the coolness runs up the nape and I can’t stop staring at him. He was clean-shaven, handsome, but deadly.””

  4.  “I’m staring at this guy as he stands in line to board the bus and everybody is giving him a wide berth,” she said. “No one is standing close to this guy.” Nobody.... A large group of people crowded together a small distance in front of him,  while another group stood as far behind him as they could in this small room.

  5. Time to board ....  the passengers climbed into the bus.  Ulriksen, at the back of the line, was the last to board.  Searching for a seat,  she again spotted  "the man" sitting in one of the middle rows. Their were plenty of empty seats around "the man"... the other passengers staying as far away from him as possible:

“Yes, he is dressed strange but it’s the air around him. I don’t like to label things ‘evil’ lightly. I would imagine I would have the same feeling standing before a wild animal on the hunt,” she said. “The heebie jeebies doesn’t begin to describe the feeling this dude is giving me. It’s suddenly like everyone around me is no longer on the top of the food chain. Something is very not right about this guy.”  Even so ....

  6. As Ulriksen stood at the front of the bus (looking for a seat) , she actually  felt an urge to get close to this man!  “The little voice in my head speaks up, ‘Sit with him why don’t you?’” she said. “It’s the same one that says, ‘have another smoke’ ‘play with that Ouija board'" ...   that  little voice you learn not to  listen to.

Ulriksen walked past the man and took a seat two rows behind him ... "a compromise".  “I keep glancing at the back of his head,” she said. “I think, ‘What’s this guy’s deal ???"  No sooner had she formed that thought ... no sooner had the thought  run through Ulriksen’s head...  the man turned and grinned at her!

“My heart stops,” she said. “Pure fear drops through me; the electric kind. The pulsing, I’m-going-to-die feeling. Pure primal fear. I can’t explain it in words. It was screwed up.”

  7. Ulriksen stared in terror at the strange man’s close-lipped grin, his eyebrows rising above the rim of his sunglasses. She knew she was in danger.  “I swear this guy wasn’t human,” she said.

  8. What happened to Ulriksen?  Absolutely nothing ... the man turned around... the bus got to Saskatoon ... the passengers got off without  incident.  Still, Ulriksen has never forgotten the terrifying episode.  What did this man want?  Who (or what) was he ... Why did he radiate such an aura of   threatening danger?  More clues were waiting in California ....three years later...
Visitation Two: (The Predator)
2009 - Southern California

  1. It was 2009.  Tim Davis was sitting at the bar of the Miwuk Indian’s Black Oak Casino in Tuolomne, California;  having a few drinks and flirting with the pretty lady sitting next to him.

“I had been having a few drinks and hitting on a woman sitting next to me for about an hour,” he said. “We were hitting it off wonderfully.” - when suddenly,  the air around them changed; it grew heavy... and ... ominous .

“I felt something coming. That’s the best I can describe it,” Davis said. “The sort of uneasy feeling I always have when there is something about to happen that can possibly injure me, kill me, or ruin my life in some manner.”

  2. Davis stopped and looked around him. There were some  people behind him, smoking  cigarettes and hitting the slot machines.  On the other side of the bar;  a live band was playing on a stage.  Everything looked perfectly "normal" ... except, something just didn't feel "right"... something, somewhere, was wrong:

“Nothing struck me as odd,” he said.  The guy sitting on his other side had paid for his drinks and left... so that seat was now empty.  After taking another look around, Davis was turning  back to resume his conversation with the pretty lady when:

“Suddenly, this giant man,  dressed like Paul Bunyan, sits down next to me,” Davis said. “I immediately pick up this  overwhelming feeling of danger and evil coming off this man.”  The guy was "wearing flannel and appeared to have just come out of the woods,” Davis said. “He stood easily 6’8” and was built like a linebacker. Easily one of the most dangerous men I have ever encountered.”  But It wasn’t the man’s size Davis felt as dangerous. It was something else.  “I’m certainly not small and have nephews and brother-in-laws 6’5” to 6’7”,” Davis said. “But they do not exude this sort of danger vibe.”

  3. Davis continued his turning  back toward the pretty lady;   only to find she was getting up to leave.  “The woman I have been chatting with takes one look at the man gets up and walks away,” he said. But not Davis. “Being slightly buzzed I stay there to finish up my drink.”  He wished he hadn’t.

  4. Suddenly “With no prompting,  the man turns and looks at me and says the name of the town I am from ,” Davis said. “The town has about 20,000 people and is a bedroom community about 400 miles away from my current location.”  This statement took Davis aback; he had never met this man. Then things became stranger.

  5. “We chat for a couple minutes and he then says, ‘you are all right Tim,’ using my name which I had not given him,” Davis said. “The comment had the feeling of a decision on his part. Like he had decided not to kill me.”

  6. A few minutes later, Davis stands up, excuses himself, and leaves the bar.  “I go see if I can find the woman I had been chatting with,” he said. “I find her across the casino at a slot machine and ask her why she just got up and left.”  The pretty woman looks Davis full in the eyes and says, “Didn’t you get the, ‘I will kill you and stuff you in a van’ vibe from that guy?”

    Oh yes, he had.

The
"Thing"
On Our Stairs

  1. It was a Sears Modern Home, a mail-order house popular before the Great Depression.
The house had sat on Telhurst Road in South Euclid, Ohio...  since the early years after
World War I.   Nobody lived in the house for very  long.

  2. Lisa Falour lived in the house  from 1967 to 1975 ... she found out why.

  3. "The house had already had numerous owners and changed hands often," Lisa said. "It always felt creepy to me."  Repairs were seemingly endless; especially the roof. It always leaked.

But what bothered Lisa & her family the most was the cold...the house was impossible to keep warm enough in the winter (winters in Ohio by Lake Erie are deadly nasty).  "The family room was the kitchen, as it was usually the only warm place in the whole house. Even when the living room chimney was lit, what little heat we had ran up the flue."

  4. The coldest room in the house was Lisa's room ... so she usually did her schoolwork in the kitchen.  While doing her homework ... Lisa experienced some  "unwelcome visitors" in the form of:  Black Human Shapes seemingly "punched" (impressed) into the fabric of  the dining room's dim light.

  5. Lisa  constantly saw "shadow people" walking around in the dining room while she sat at the kitchen table.   She said:   "They were of normal size,  and they were silent.  Mostly Lisa saw them out of the corner of her eye ...   but;  when she looked straight at them, they would just quietly move on...so they  were definitely there.  Until, Lisa turned on the dining room light ...then in the brighter light ... the shadows were no longer there.

  6. Lisa didn't know what to do next, so she asked her mother.  Her mother advised her the house was "...probably haunted.  If they don't hurt you, don't worry about them".

  7. But Lisa still didn't know what to do about "THE  DOOR".    She kept seeing a door in the dining room .... a door that she knew wasn't really there!

  8. This "ghostly door" was located just to the side of the door she knew was real... the Real Door led to a bathroom, some cupboards, the T.V. room and a closet.   Was the ghostly door a connection that allowed the Shadow People to come & go?  OR: was it just a door that used to be in that spot before later renovations?

  9. Visitors to the house only knew that Lisa thought it was "creepy".  But they never stayed very long.

  10. Lisa left the house when she was 18.  She returned only for  short visits with her family.  On one such visit with her 2nd husband;    Lisa was sound asleep next to her  husband when  he heard something climbing the old wooden stairs and arriving at their bedroom door.  In the doorway was what he described as: a huge "ghastly looking" creature.

According to Lisa ... Husband #2 was not to pleased to discover this aspect of his wife's life.  Lisa 'fessed up that as a child;  she used to hear "it" creeping up the stairs ... but;  never saw the figure it self .... because she was too busy keeping her eyes closed shut!  Lisa also reported that the shadows still walked in the Dining Room.

  11. The house is no longer in Lisa?s family, which doesn't bother her at all. She does, however, wonder if the new owners have experienced shadow people or the thing on the stairs.  "I never heard a sound from the "Shadow People", and didn't feel particularly threatened, but;   I did feel uneasy and not happy they were there...it made me not like the house ...it was "creepy".

"A Field Trip"
 To:
The Ax Murder House

  • The town of Villisca, a sleepy sort of "friendly" town in  Iowa, rests just off U.S. 71.    Population:   1,344.   In 1912, Villisca's population was reduced by "7".  The town is the site of seven brutal murders.
  • The Moore family and two of their children’s friends staying the night were killed by someone swinging an ax. Someone who’d paced the attic...  smoking cigarettes... and  waiting for the Moore family to come home from a June church picnic and go to sleep.  Those murders have never been solved.

    • Some years later;  the Moore Family's Home was bought by one "Darwin and Martha Linn".  They  bought the murder house because they were worried  that "a piece of local history" might be torn down.  That turned out to be the least of their worries.  Darwin has since found out there are "spirits" livng in his new house.  He reports no incidents himself;  but too many visitors to the house have told him .... he is not alone.  The following is one "professor's account":
    1. In the 2009 fall semester at Northwest Missouri State University, I taught the one-time offering “Paranormal Journalism” and took 22 students on a field trip to the ax murder house. It was only a 50-minute drive. I would have felt guilty if we hadn’t gone.

    2. A little about the class; the mainstream media has frustrated me for years with the terms “little green men” in stories of UFO sightings, “who you gonna call?” in reports of ghost sightings, and references to “Harry and the Hendersons” with Bigfoot stories. Each reference turns the story into parody.

I proposed this class on "Paranormal Journalism",  to my University as an effort to teach young journalists to report on the paranormal at least as seriously as they would a city council meeting or even a car wreck. The university said OK.  The field trip was just a bonus.

    3. In 1912, the two-story ax murder house sat on the outskirts of town. It’s now just a few blocks away from downtown. We pulled up to the house at dusk in two university vans, a light mist promising for a chilly night.

The house spread in front of us, seeming larger than it was.  Maybe the oval sign that spelled “Ax Murder House”,   in bloody letters,  had something to do with that.

Pie-shaped windows from the attic of this white building – the same room where the murderer waited with an ax (the Moore family’s own ax) – stared into the coming dusk like angry eyes. A few students were a little tentative.   "Cool"  However;  one student, Karra, was a little more than tentative. She seemed unnerved.

    4. Weeks before the trip, Karra had a dream about the ax murder house. In the dream she was in the second-floor children’s bedroom and a doll – a Raggedy Ann-type doll – lay on the bed. As she approached the bed, the doll turned its head and smiled. She awoke screaming.

Before we arrived at the house, I assured her everything would be fine.  I was wrong.

    5. We had a  tour guide..  Johnny Houser... and he proceeded to  lead us into the house that had been filled with horror 97 years ago.   We broke into two groups;   one going upstairs, the other exploring downstairs.   Only moments later, terror-filled screams rang throughout the house from the second floor. I rushed to the stairway and met Karra pounding down the steps screaming...  “The doll”.

When Karra had walked into what was the children’s upstairs room, the wallpaper, the bed, the comforter, and the Raggedy Anne-type doll sitting on the bed were the same as in her dream.  Nothing had moved or "smiled";  but just seeing the exact scene from her dream ... well,  that had been enough.

But wait ... there was more to come ... much more!

    6. Another student, Logan, had brought  a "Franks Box" .... a radio receiver which randomly scans the radio dial in the hopes if picking up "spirit" or ghost communications thru the "white background noise".   Logan would ask  random questions in hopes of picking up a response through the Franks Box radio.     Logan's group followed him into an unnaturally cold cupboard while he "asked Questions & hoped for some Answers".

    7. I had my doubts about any electronic device that’s “supposed” to detect ghosts, but something happened with the Franks Box.

    8. In the van, before we pulled up to the Ax Murder House, I instructed my students to be respectful and to not – under any circumstance – be a jerk. Even to something they couldn’t see.  One student, Stratton, didn’t follow my advice. He had walked throughout the house shouting things like, “Coward. Come face me. If there’s a ghost here, show me.”

    9. So:  crowded in the cupboard with six people, Logan began asking questions.

“Is there someone here with us?”  Static, followed by a distinctive male voice, “yes.”

(This device was scanning radio frequencies. I discounted that “yes” as naturally random)

“Do you want us to leave?”  Static again, followed by the same voice, “yes.”

      (Odd, but still accounted for.)

“Is someone making you angry?”  Static, “yes.”

(Still within the realm of normalcy. Although repeated three times,
this was just one word. I wasn’t reading anything into the Franks Box).

    • “Are they here in this room?”  Static, “no.”

    (Hmmm. A different word.)

    • “Who’s making you angry?”   Static, “Stratton.”

Stratton? A device randomly scanning radio signals
came up with the name of the only person on the field trip
who was trying to make something angry"
Bill, John, Aaron, or Dave, I could have brushed off easily.
    But Stratton?

The box answered the question, and the answer was correct.

    A Real Life
    "Little People"
    Story

    • Legends of little people dance at the periphery of societies around the world. Elves, gnomes, goblins, trolls, ebu gogo, makiawisug, menehune – some of these entities are said to help humans, others kidnap, rob and devour.
    • Modern tales of these little people come from places like Iceland, Hawaii, the Midwest, Sweden, New Zealand and Colombia, South America.
    • Fabian Hernandez has seen the little people.  This is his tale:
    1. Hernandez, 30, a veteran of the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division, and his brother, an aircraft engineer, were born in Brooklyn, N.Y., in the 1980s.  “We lived in a small apartment in Brooklyn with our parents,” he said. “I have Native Indian blood from the natives of Colombia, South America, from my mother’s side.”  His family moved back to their mother’s home country, Colombia. It was there,  that Hernandez saw little people in his room.

    2. Hernandez and his brother were asleep when some sort of vibration woke him up:  “I can recall seeing a group of small men working around my bed, silently,” Hernandez said. “It was like if I was looking at characters (from another) dimension.”   “I observed them walking around like if they were working in a mine of some kind, like digging or something.”  The little men were three inches tall and bright white & intent on what they were doing.  “The following day I told my parents and I just simply got brushed off. At that time I got a little scared and did not know what to do, so I simply forgot it as time past.”

    3. Four years later, the Hernandez family moved back to Brooklyn.  “I was around the age of nine and my brother was just a few years older then me,” Hernandez said. “We lived in a small apartment where we shared the same bed in our parent’s room.”

One night Hernandez went to sleep early because of the flu. When he woke in the early morning, he saw something he’d seen years before, a continent away.

“I slept against the wall and my brother towards the edge,” he said. “I think it was around two or three in the morning when I noticed a white, long bright light, like when window blinds close and the light comes in.”
But, something was moving in  that light.

    4. “I had awakened my brother laying next to me,  to see what I was seeing,” he said. “This long, bright light transformed, and my brother said ‘look, it’s moving.’ I said, ‘what is that?’”  This time;  both Hernandez and  his brother saw little white figures, again ... about three inches tall & moving in the light.  (The little men )“They were talking amongst each other, moving around rapidly in a (different) dimension sort of way,” Hernandez said.

    5. Then ... the light moved across the ceiling and onto the wall next to Hernandez ... and simply disappeared.  Since this incident, Hernandez hasn’t seen the little people, but the thought of them still frightens him.

“I get the chills talking about it, as (does) my brother,” Hernandez said. “This has been something that has been bothering my brother and I for many years, thinking that it was just my mind or eyes playing tricks on me, but I know it wasn’t a child problem, since my older brother had confirmed it.”

    A REAL LIFE
    "BARNES & NOBLE"
    FAERY TALE ?

    • “It was a miserable morning, so I thought I would go have a coffee and look at the books,” he said.  As Helbling stood in line for coffee, he was amused by the conversation with the barista and the man in front of him.

“I was standing behind a tall, rather large man who looked about 65,” Helbling said. The man wore a red-checkered flannel shirt and blue jeans. “When his turn came he said he didn’t have his discount card but could he use his sister’s number. He then rattled off about a 17-digit number off the top of his head. I was impressed.”

    • Then Helbling noticed two girls, one blonde, one brunette.  “Two girls were waiting for their drinks and looked strangely out of place,” he said. “I looked closely because they were wearing designer jeans and hairdo’s that were 25 years out of date. They looked about 17, but seemed older.”  They also seemed familiar. The girls looked like friends Amy and Alicia he knew from high school. He initially thought they may be his friends’ daughters, but quickly dismissed it.

    • “While they looked young and attractive, their faces seemed more defined and mature. More like 35 years old,” he said. “In the blonde girl’s case, she looked strikingly like Amy. In the brunette’s case she looked like Alicia but six inches taller.”

Helbling wanted to ask the girls where they got their seemingly brand-new retro clothes, but didn’t.  “I didn’t want to seem like a creep,” he said.

    • Helbling paid for his coffee and browsed books, picking up one that interested him. “I didn’t buy it, though. I just went home.”  He didn’t think any more of the man in line who’d memorized the long account number, nor the out-of-place girls – until he saw them again.

    • “Next Sunday, the exact same kind of day, the exact same time, I decided to go back and buy that book,” he said.  Helbling stood in line for coffee behind the same 65-year-old man in the same red flannel shirt and blue jeans who spouted the same long account number.  “Both times he did it he had to do it like three times because it was so fast the (barista) couldn’t keep up,” he said.  The man in the flannel shirt wasn’t the only element in play from the previous Sunday.  “I look over and the same two girls in the exact same clothes are standing in the same spot, but this time they had their drinks,” he said. “When I walked past them they gave me a weird look. I’m thinking this is really strange.”

    • Helbling bought a coffee and walked to the far corner of the two-level store to find the book he’d browsed the Sunday before. The girls followed him.

    • “This store is their flagship, two floors and enormous,” he said. “The book was as far away from the coffee shop as you could get. When I got the book and turned around the two girls were sitting on the floor right behind me, staring at me.”

    • When Helbling noticed the girls, they quickly moved books in front of their faces like they’d been caught spying on him, he said.  “I was so startled I couldn’t say a word,” Helbling said. “I just went down the escalator and went home.”

    • At home, Helbling began to read the book and found the plot twist revolved around time-traveling tourists!

“I started to wonder if I had experienced something of that nature,” he said. “Were they waiting for me to buy that book? Was the tall man the tour guide? It was something I’ll never forget. I never really thought of time travel ‘til I got to that part of the book then it all clicked.”

    • Helbling said he thinks the girls he saw at Barnes and Noble on those rainy October Sundays were related to his old friends Amy and Alicia, but were not their daughters – maybe their great-great granddaughters.

“Were the girls were descendents of people I knew, and were they taking a school tour of the past?” he said. “The checkered-shirt guy was possibly the teacher. Or did I slip into an alternative timeline? If you slipped into a different timeline would you ever even know it? And even if you knew it, would it make a difference?”

04-04-2011 UPDATE - Time Travelers in Barnes & Noble ???

Did Ken Helbling Actually Change His Own Future When He "Traveled Into Time"?

    1. FIRST THE RE-CAP:  It’s been five years since Ken Helbling, 40, went to Barnes and Noble and walked into the future and ... As he stood in line for coffee ... noticed two out-of-place girls and their out-of-place “guide” observing him suspiciously.

    2. “The (girls) were wearing designer jeans and hairdos that were 25 years out of date,” he said. “They looked about 17, but seemed older.”  The girls also looked similar to girls he knew in high school. (He thought maybe they were the daughters or even the grandaughters of girls he knew and that's why they looked familiar?)

    3. Then ... when he saw the same trio at the same time in the same place wearing the same clothes the next Sunday, he knew something was wrong.  “When I walked past them they gave me a weird look,” he said. “I’m thinking this is really strange.” (Did he look familiar to them?)  Helbling bought the book he’d gone to the store to buy the week before and thinks it may have something to do with his encounter. The book was “The Keepers” by Jim Sparks.  “It may well be the first book in modern history that mentioned time travelers taking tours as a fact,” Helbling said.  He’s sure that’s what he encountered in the bookstore – time traveling tourists.

But Wait .... Now - 5 Years Later ... There's More To The Story!

    4. But since the publication of Helbling’s original story in “From the Shadows,” the future hasn’t left him alone.  When a link to Helbling’s story appeared on the popular late-night paranormal talk show Coast to Coast AM’s website,  Helbling called his older brother in Connecticut to tell him – only to discover (acccording to his brother) .... he already had!

“I called as I had a true story I’d never told (my brother) about written up online,” Helbling said.

“And he said, ‘yeah, you emailed me and sent me a link to ‘From the Shadows.’ I read it on Friday.”

Thing Is ... Helbling did no such thing ... and there's proof!

    5. “I said that’s not possible because I didn’t email or call you,” Helbling said. “And you’re the first person I mentioned this to.”  Helbling’s brother recited the text of the email and the address it came from. The email address  was from Helbling; but Hebling never sent it ... at least;  not THIS Hebling!

    6. “There has been no correspondence by phone since March 1,” Helbling said. “And I have not emailed or had an email from my brother since June 22, 2010. He swears he got an email from me on March 11, 2011. It wasn’t me, and I can prove it.”

      - Tracking Down Time & Events -

    7. Helbling’s brother, who has worked in the computer industry since 1979, confirmed his brother’s suspicions.

    8. “My older brother sent me this email,” Helbling said. “And I quote (his older brother);

"OK, I’ve gone back into the server logs.  There is no record of an email to me from you or anyone that would have linked me to ‘From the Shadows,’  or anywhere else for that matter. Still, I wouldn’t have known where to look, and all I did was click a link and get there.  The link is in my browser history. I recall sitting on the couch reading it – three days before you called me. Curious and more curious."

    9. Helbling’s story appeared on the blog “From the Shadows” at 6:58 p.m. March 8. Coast to Coast AM posted the link March 14. - Helbling’s brother read the post March 11.  So who sent the email? A future Helbling?... An alternative dimensional Helbling?

    10. “Things are getting very curious,” Helbling said. “I feel that I need to back off and get a better perspective on what’s going on.”
    • Question:  Is this occurrence peculiar to Helbling .... or .... are the "Veils Between the Worlds" getting thinner ???

A Case of Time Traveling Tourists?

    THE MOTHER SHIPTON PROPHECY
    Published 1448

And now a word, in uncouth rhyme
Of what shall be in future time
Then upside down the world shall be
And gold found at the root of tree

All England's sons that plough the land
Shall oft be seen with Book in hand
Great houses stand in far flung vale
All covered o'er with snow and hail

A carriage without horse will go
Disaster fill the world with woe.
In London, Primrose Hill shall be
In centre hold a Bishop's See

Around the world men's thoughts will fly
Quick as the twinkling of an eye.
And water shall great wonders do
How strange. And yet it shall come true.

Through towering hills proud men shall ride
No horse or ass move by his side.
Beneath the water, men shall walk
Shall ride, shall sleep, shall even talk.

And in the air men shall be seen
In white and black and even green
A great man then, shall come and go
    For prophecy declares it so.

In water, iron, then shall float
As easy as a wooden boat
Gold shall be seen in stream and stone
In land that is yet unknown.

And England shall admit a Jew
You think this strange, but it is true
The Jew that once was held in scorn
Shall of a Christian then be born.

A house of glass shall come to pass
    In England. But Alas, alas
A war will follow with the work
Where dwells the Pagan and the Turk

These states will lock in fiercest strife
And seek to take each others life.
When North shall thus divide the south
And Eagle build in Lions mouth

Then tax and blood and cruel war
Shall come to every humble door.
Three times shall lovely sunny France
Be led to play a bloody dance

Before the people shall be free
Three tyrant rulers shall she see.
    Three rulers in succession be
    Each springs from different dynasty.

Then when the fiercest strife is done
England and France shall be as one.
The British olive shall next then twine
In marriage with a German vine.

Men walk beneath and over streams
Fulfilled shall be their wondrous dreams.
For in those wondrous far off days
The women shall adopt a craze

To dress like men, and trousers wear
And to cut off their locks of hair
They'll ride astride with brazen brow
As witches do on broomsticks now.

And roaring monsters with man atop
Does seem to eat the verdant crop
And men shall fly as birds do now
And give away the horse and plough.

There'll be a sign for all to see
Be sure that it will certain be.
Then love shall die and marriage cease
And nations wane as babes decrease

And wives shall fondle cats and dogs
And men live much the same as hogs.
In nineteen hundred and twenty six
Build houses light of straw and sticks.

For then shall mighty wars be planned
And fire and sword shall sweep the land.
When pictures seem alive with movements free
When boats like fishes swim beneath the sea,

When men like birds shall scour the sky
Then half the world, deep drenched in blood shall die.
For those who live the century through
In fear and trembling this shall do.

Flee to the mountains and the dens
To bog and forest and wild fens.
For storms will rage and oceans roar
When Gabriel stands on sea and shore

And as he blows his wondrous horn
Old worlds die and new be born.
A fiery dragon will cross the sky
Six times before this earth shall die

Mankind will tremble and frightened be
for the sixth heralds in this prophecy.
For seven days and seven nights
Man will watch this awesome sight.

The tides will rise beyond their ken
To bite away the shores and then
The mountains will begin to roar
And earthquakes split the plain to shore.

    And flooding waters, rushing in
Will flood the lands with such a din
That mankind cowers in muddy fen
And snarls about his fellow men.

He bares his teeth and fights and kills
And secrets food in secret hills
And ugly in his fear, he lies
To kill marauders, thieves and spies.

Man flees in terror from the floods
And kills, and rapes and lies in blood
And spilling blood by man kinds hands
Will stain and bitter many lands

And when the dragon's tail is gone,
Man forgets, and smiles, and carries on
To apply himself - too late, too late
For mankind has earned deserved fate.

His masked smile - his false grandeur,
Will serve the Gods their anger stir.
And they will send the Dragon back
To light the sky - his tail will crack

Upon the earth and rend the earth
And man shall flee, King, Lord, and serf.
But slowly they are routed out
    To seek diminishing water spout

And men will die of thirst before
The oceans rise to mount the shore.
And lands will crack and rend anew
You think it strange. It will come true.

And in some far off distant land
Some men - oh such a tiny band.
Will have to leave their solid mount
And span the earth, those few to count,

Who survives this (unreadable) and then
    Begin the human race again.
But not on land already there
But on ocean beds, stark, dry and bare

Not every soul on Earth will die
As the Dragons tail goes sweeping by.
Not every land on earth will sink
But these will wallow in stench and stink

Of rotting bodies of beast and man
    Of vegetation crisped on land.
But the land that rises from the sea
Will be dry and clean and soft and free

Of mankinds dirt and therefore be
The source of man's new dynasty.
And those that live will ever fear
The dragons tail for many year

    But time erases memory
You think it strange. But it will be.
And before the race is built anew
A silver serpent comes to view

And spew out men of like unknown
To mingle with the earth now grown.
Cold from its heat and these men can
Enlighten the minds of future man.

To intermingle and show them how
To live and love and thus endow
The children with the second sight.
A natural thing so that they might

Grow graceful, humble and when they do
The Golden Age will start anew.
The dragon's tail is but a sign
For mankind's fall and man's decline.

And before this prophecy is done
I shall be burned at the stake, at one
My body singed and my soul set free
    You think I utter blasphemy
You're wrong. These things have come to me
This prophecy will come to be.
