The Real-time Dot
A real time data analysis of the Global Consciousness Project
What it means:
Significantly small network variance. Suggestive of deeply shared,
internally motivated group focus. The index is above 95% (Self- Contained Gathered groups "puttin' out some strong vibes")
Small network variance. Probably chance fluctuation. The index
is between 90% and 95% (milling about - shifting positions)
Normally random network variance. This is average or
expected behavior. The index is between 40% and 90% (On "cruise control" ... people doin' what they do)
Slightly increased network variance. Probably chance
fluctuation. The index is between 10% and 40%
(chillin' & moving about: figuring out what to do next)
Strongly increased network variance. May be chance
fluctuation, with the index between 5% and 10% (Somethin's in the Wind" ... things are stirrin')
Significantly large network variance. Suggests broadly
shared coherence of thought and emotion. The index is less than 5% (An undercurrent of Focus or Consensus- For Good or Ill: "Action Taken or About To Happen" (Consciously or Unconsciously; people somewhere on the Global Dot Network .... are Freakin' (something may be about to happen)
NOTE: When lots of people are busy on the web ... the dot will show oranges & reds. When traffic slows down across the web (& presumably the globe) the dot may go to Green.
Before a crisis it ought to show lots of extended Red. It is supposed to have done so before "911".
The Global Consciousness Project, also called the EGG Project, is an international, multidisciplinary collaboration of scientists, engineers, artists and others. We collect data continuously from a global network of physical random number generators located in 65 host sites around the world. The archive contains more than 10 years of random data in parallel sequences of synchronized 200-bit trials every second. (Princeton University)
Its Purpose Is: to examine subtle correlations that may reflect the presence and activity of consciousness in the world. We predict structure in what should be random data, associated with major global events. When millions of us share intentions and emotions the GCP/EGG network data show meaningful departures from expectation.
The Idea Is: Large scale group consciousness has effects in the physical world. (Note: Is this the World's Mood ... or is this the World's "Intent" ... or is it Both?)
